Hospital Tour
We are proud to have state-of-the-art equipment at the hospital, and are always on the cutting edge with new technology. We have ultrasound technology, dental x-ray capability, and the latest and safest anesthesia for surgery. The following will give you a glimpse into our world of “high-tech, soft touch”.
Complete Diagnostic Services
We provide a state-of-the art laboratory to provide immediate analysis of blood, urine and stool samples.
Our digital radiography is a tremendous advancement for bone or solid-based diagnostic purposes. Not only is it amazingly fast, it can enlarge images to pin-point problems that might not have been seen using traditional methods. Our ultrasounds are provided by doctors certified in ultrasonography and are an excellent tool for diagnosing soft tissue problems.
Dental Lab
Our dental lab is equipped to provide all services from tooth cleaning to extractions in a comfortable environment. State-of-the-art anesthesia and x-ray equipment and post-operative monitoring allow us to perform precision dentistry.
Intensive Care Unit
Our Intensive Care Unit is staffed 24/7 by veterinarians and certified veterinary technicians to provide expert and compassionate care for patients with critical needs. Our advanced diagnostic and monitoring equipment manages treatment for our most crucially ill patients. Our oxygen therapy unit enables complete control of your pet’s environment, including precise delivery of a desired oxygen level and maintenance of humidity and temperature.
Surgery Suites
Three surgery suites give us the versatility to perform many different types of surgeries in our hospital. We take every precaution to make sure all surgeries are as safe as possible. Prior to anesthesia, our surgery patients have a blood panel run to check for any underlying diseases that could complicate anesthesia. During surgery our patients are maintained on intravenous fluids to support their blood pressure and allow quick access to veins in case of emergency. Sophisticated monitoring equipment is continually used to check vital signs (heart rate and rhythm, breathing rate, blood pressure, and oxygenation), and a technician is monitoring these machines and observing the patient to ensure safety. Our staff of veterinarians performs the majority of the surgeries, from routine spays and neuters to emergency surgery and much in between. We also have a board-certified surgeon on staff to handle complicated orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, and to consult with our doctors as needed.
Recovery
Recovery and post-operative patient comfort is of paramount importance to our staff at the Animal Hospital of Nashua. Trained veterinary nursing staff members are on duty to carefully monitor your pet’s recovery and maintain pain management protocols. Providing appropriate analgesia and anti-inflammatory relief has been shown to reduce the amount of time a patient requires to recover and heal.
