Blood Bank | Your pet could save a life
Our blood bank at the Animal Medical Center, our affinitive 24-hour emergency referral practice, provides packed red blood cells and plasma for both dogs and cats, so both your canine and feline friends have the opportunity to save another pet. Participation in our blood bank enables you to contribute to a life-saving program available to veterinary hospitals throughout the region.
We provide a complimentary wellness exam and routine blood tests to determine if your pet is an eligible donor. We review your pet's red blood cell count and chemistry profile. You will be asked to fill out a recent healthy history questionnaire for your pet. All vaccines must be up-to-date and your pet must be taking no medications except a heart worm and/or flea preventative. Once approved as a donor, your pet can donate as often as every three months.
